- Pet food for the Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary...
The Humane Education Society has just made it easy for shoppers to donate food to their wonderful animals by installing a pet food bin by the checkouts in Sainsbury’s. And if the reaction is anything to go by it’s feeding time for both the humans and the animals at the Alderley Road store with shoppers only too happy to donate to the animals - even during the credit crunch.
Julie Hatton, manager of the Wilmslow store said: "We are delighted to help the Sanctuary and from the results so far, so are our customers."
The Sanctuary’s colourful container, where items of pet food can be left, has been placed near the check-outs. The container has only been installed for a few days but is already proving extremly popular.
Sanctuary fundraiser David McCallam said: "This will be a tremendous help to us and a good way for people to know they are benefitting the animals directly. It has already got off to a great start, and we hope everyone will continue to support our animals in this way."
