Little donkeys touch shoppers' hearts

IT’S been a Lucky collection time for the Humane Education Society and it's guaranteed to be Snowy this Christmas.
For the Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary certainly tasted the difference when fundraising outside Sainsbury's, on Alderley Road, with a brace of asses.
Kind staff of the Alderley Road store provided the donkeys, Lucky and Snowy, with carrots and hot drinks for the charity's collectors. A sanctuary spokesman said: "The staff brought out big juicy carrots for the donkeys and we raised £640."
Store manager Steve Morris said customers gave generously and were charmed by the presence of the donkeys at Christmas time. "Our customers are big hearted and always give generously," he said.
